Parties and social dance
Just like in the years before, we do offer you plenty of opportunities for social dance and parties. This year, we start off with a dance night already on Thursday, right after the evening class.
After the Balboa day on Friday, there will be a welcome dance at Grand, the central venue of the Winter Camp.
On Saturday's Winter party we offer a great dinner, entertainment and live music with our favorite big band Phontrattarne.
All those who can't get enough dance can chill out at Sunday's tea dance after the end of the lectures.
Thursday dance
This year's Winter Camp starts already at Thursday night. After the workshop at Drabanten, our popular Swing jockeys will play your favorite music. Drabanten has become a melting pot for all kinds of different dances, a place to be for Uppsala locals and visitors who love to test and meet different dance styles.
Admittance to the Thursday night dance is free for camp participants.
Friday dance
Welcome dance on Friday
Last year's startup Friday was a great success, so why change something so popular? We will have a typical Swingkatten night at Grand. All those who participated in the Friday Balboa class are already in the camp mood. Other camp participants will arrive during the evening, Swingkatten members and friends from Stockholm pay a visit. Hit the dance floor, chill out on the upper floor, enjoy a cozy break, get ready for the weekend!
All camp participants enter Grand for free, no matter if you do the Lindy or the Balboa part or both.
Great Winter Party at Saturday night
The Winter Camp's social highlight is our dinner party and the dance night on Saturday. After relax at the traditional students' gym "Svettis", you are ready for a great dinner with most of the camp participants. A good meal is served, and you might get some interesting entertainment. While you sip your after-dinner coffee and eat a bit of cake, we prepare the big ballroom for the night's dance.
Uppsala's best and most popular student Big Band Svenska Showorkestern Phontrattarne will invite you to dance. This spring, the band celebrated its 50th anniversary with a tremendous show at the Uppsala Theatre. They played after the Nobel Prize award dinner in the Stockholm City Hall both 2005 and 2006, so no doubt they are competent and have a rich variety of great music to choose from!

Tea Dance at Sunday evening
For some people, a 3.5 day dance camp is simply not enough, and they still need to try out some new moves on Sunday. Parting and scattering rightafter the last lecture might be really disappointing, and if you don't need to catch the next train or flight, why don't you stay for a nice chill-out dance and chat at Grand?Talk to your new friends, have a nice cup of tea, test your new moves with a new partner, and stay until the camp workers carry you out of the place!
Admittance for the Tea Dance is free for camp participants.
